In Friulano (our local language) Sclesis means "splinters". It's a project born in Faedis, a small town in the hills of north-eastern Italy, out of the wood carving passion of Guido Giavitto. While this passion remained just a hobby for many years, since his retirement in 2015 it has become a daily dedicated activity. The
appreciation for woodwork comes from a lifetime in the countryside and the contact with nature, which allow to see the potential for beauty in every piece of wood. Each type of tree has its own characteristics, qualities and personality, and wood carving allows to expose them, thus
revealing the deepest colors and the hidden shades and wood grain. All products are handcrafted and unique. They can be customized and engraved.
In Friulano (la nostra lingua) Sclesis significa "schegge". E' un progetto nato a Faedis, un piccolo paese nei colli dell'Italia nord-orientale, dalla passione di Guido Giavitto per la lavorazione del
legno. Rimasta solo un hobby per molti anni, ha potuto dedicarsi a questa attività dopo la pensione a partire dal 2015. Questo apprezzamento per la lavorazione del legno viene dalla vita di campagna e
dal contatto con la natura, che rende piu facile vedere la bellezza in ogni pezzo di legno. Ogni albero ha le sue caratteristiche, qualità e personalità , e la lavorazione del legno permette di rivelare i colori piu' intensi e ombre e venature nascoste. Tutti i prodotti sono unici e fatti a mano. Possono essere personalizzati e incisi.
